THE PAHEi GLOBAL YOUTH PROGRAM

The 2023 Summer Bridge Program

Selected students from this year’s summer program will  participate in one of the two intensive one week programs on the topic of healthcare practicum and the business of healthcare

Modality – courses will be delivered in a hybrid modality (in person and online) by a predominantly US based faculty

Key learning outcome  – learn and apply basic life support techniques, discuss leadership development and resilience concepts, understand the application of artificial intelligence ( to disease detection, develop new soft skills including working in a team, Ideation, and others

Project based learning –  at the end the one week program, students are expected to present on a solution that addresses a local, regional or continental healthcare challenge

Goals and Objectives 

• Admitted students will gain exposure to an interdisciplinary American university experience, learn basic life support skills and explore various pathways to achieving career and/or business success in the healthcare industry

• Students will also be engaged on academic options beyond high school

• We will  engage students with college level academic content, exclusively in English, as taught on US campuses

Course Content

The interdisciplinary course curriculum will be delivered in a hybrid modality, in person and online, and taught by a predominantly US based faculty

• Basic Life Support Practical Training

• Application of Artificial Intelligence ( to early Disease detection

• Goal setting and Agents of Change

• Bio Engineering and Tissue Regeneration Science

• Application of Technology Engineering and Math (methods in Healthcare Project

• Entrepreneurship Building Businesses in Healthcare Technology Health Data/AI

Week 1: Yaoundé – August 14, 2023 – August 19, 2023
Week 2: Douala – August 21, 2023 – August 26, 2023
